Day 02: Acclimatisation day in Kathmandu

Air ($199USD). Flights start at 6:30am and take guests on a 45 minute flight through the

Everest region to show these amazing mountains in a completely different perspective. The

plan will fly under 30 kilometres from the peak of the world, Mount Everest.

Local sightseeing, preparation for the trek and overnight stay in Kathmandu at Samsara

Resort.

Buffet breakfast provided at the hotel. After breakfast, the group will be taken to Kathmandu

Durbar Square, which is about a 20 minute walk from the Hotel. All guests will be given free

time to see the local tourist sights and asked to return to the hotel for Lunch.

In the afternoon, the group will be briefed about the trip. During this briefing, a final gear

check will be completed and all group equipment for the trek will be prepared. Any last

minute items that are needed to be rented or bought may be done.

Dinner at a restaurant nearby the hotel.

Day 3: Bus/Jeep ride from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1400mts)

Depending on road conditions and transport, this trip can take anywhere from 4-12 hours.

After morning breakfast we follow the north-west running hills out of Kathmandu. Take in the

Himlayan views and mountainous terrain to gain an insight into the Nepali lifestyle as we

drive through terraced rice fields and rustic villages.

Lunch will be taken at the Trishuli Bazar before continuing further to Dhunche. From

Dhunche, we descend down to Syabrubesi.

During night time we prepare for our trek that departs in the morning and spend the night in

Syabrubesi.

Day 4: Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2500mts) - 6 hours

The first day of trekking follows the Langtang Khola River, passing through dense forests

and crossing numerous suspension bridges. There is the option to stop and visit tea house

for afternoon tea. The trail goes up and down but it's not a challenging day of hiking (the

perfect warm up).

Day 5: Lama Hotel to Thyangshyapu (3140mts) - 5 hours

After breakfast, we embark on our second day of the journey. Our trail continues along

dense forests. After making a steady climb up through the valley, the tree line is finally below

us. We are greeted with marvellous views of Langtang Lirung.  Today’s trekking passes by

water mills, prayer wheels and chortens with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions

carved on them.

Day 6: Thyangshyapu to Kyanjin Gompa (3850mts) - 5 hours

Leaving Thyangshyapu after morning tea we initially pass through Langtang Valley and yak

pastures. On this day we also pass the largest mani wall in Nepal (stone wall with prayers

written on them). The prayers written on the mani wall are supposed to be blown away by

the wind. Crossing several wooden bridges spanning different valleys, we begin getting into

high altitude. This is when we are grateful for the slow ascent as some may start feeling the

‘thin air’. Kanjin Gompa is completely surrounded by the Himalayan Mountains. Guests will

take a walk around Kanjin Gompa in the afternoon to soak in the stunning views, glaciers,

icefalls, birds and yaks.

Option to do smaller hikes in the afternoon to Kyanjin Ri (4800mts) for sunset and

spectacular panoramic view of Langtang Himalaya range.

Day 7: Kyanjin Gompa (3850mts) to Kyanjin Ri (4800mts)

A slow paced day to take in the stunning views of the Langtang peaks and exploring the

town of Kyanjin Gompa. The group will have the option of an acclimatisation hikes to Kyanjin

Ri (4800mts) for spectacular panoramic view of Langtang Himalaya range and Langtang

glaciers. This hike will help group members to make the sunrise summit of Tserko Ri

(5000mts) tomorrow morning.

Day 8: Visit to Tserko Ri (5000mts) and return to Lama Hotel - 6 hours

Early morning we visit to Tserko Ri (5000m/16,404ft) for incredible sunrise views over the

Himalaya. Return for breakfast and then the group proceeds back to Lama Hotel. Since, its

mostly downhill, it is 4/5 hours walk from Kanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel. The trail returns

down the hill through the thick forest that shrouds the river. The return hike passes the ethnic

Tamang settlements who follow religious and cultural practices similar to the Tibetans. A

great cultural experience.

Day 9: Another day hiking down to Syabrubesi. Stay Overnight at Syabrubesi.

After breakfast we will make our way back to Syabrubesi and rest up for our education

project.

Accomodation provided in Syabrubesi.

Day 10: Drive from Syabrubesi to our education project in Tanahun

After breakfast, our private transport will take us to Tanahun to commence our project. The

trip will take around 4-10 hours by bus. Upon our arrival, we will rest and immerse ourselves

in the rural Nepali community. Sleeping arrangements will be in tents or homestay during our

time in the Tanahun community.

Note: The same sleeping bags used for the trek will be sufficient in Tanahun.

Day 11-13: Education project in Tanahun

Continue support in our Education Project over the next 5 days.

A range of tasks will be given to guests to assist the local tradespeople in building the school

project.

Day 14: Thankyou ceremony in the Tanahun community and return to Kathmandu.
